Turn off "touch" option

There are times I touch the board on accident, so it does things I wasn't intending it to do. Is there a way to turn off the option allowing "touch," so only a stylus will work until I turn it back on?

In the ActivManager’s Control Panel, look under the ‘Pens’ tab.  There will be an option there for Touch called “Use your fingers to operate the board”.  If this box is checked, click on it to uncheck it; this will disable touch input at the ActivBoard.

I absolutely agree with Jennifer. There should be the option to turn off finger recognition. We use old versions at old campus and they work great! But for our new campus management bought these touch panels. Kids literally can't write on them. I can't upload video here. Will try to download to youtube and share here the link.

    Hi Vlad,

Thank you for posting on the Support Community.

We will wait for the video, please could you let us know the model number (not serial number) of the product you are using?

    Kind regards,

Touch option is not existed. Like this picture.
    Version number 5.17

  • Hi re7ame,

Thank you for providing that post.

That feature did go away in newer versions of ActivDriver. Our newer panels do have the ability to turn off  interaction from the panel itself, however with Boards and Older hardware you may need to disconnect your USB in the interim should you wish to turn off touch. This of course will turn off interaction entirely as well.

If you feel that your board or panel is too sensitive to touch the following article may be of assistance: 1665 - My ActivBoard Touch is too sensitive https://support.prometheanworld.com/article/?kb=1665

Please let us know if we can assist you further!
