No Audio Recorded with ActivConnect G Webcam App

We can use the Voice Search, Skype, etc. fine and get audio and video, but we have teachers trying to use the video recording feature of the Webcam App and it does not seem to be recording audio. We have tried playback on the ACG and also tried sending the video to Google Drive and still do not get audio.

    Thanks for posting on the Support Community.

    With regard to the issue raised, is the Webcam App you have mentioned one that has been downloaded on the Google Play store? Or is this part of the built in Camera feature on the ActivConnect G-series when a webcam is connected?

    So we can try to replicate this, please can you tell us the exact steps you are doing (and any additional settings that you have changed).


    To double check, does your webcam include the microphone built in? 
    If the webcam is used on a computer, does this require additional drivers to be installed to use the webcam?

    Using the built-in camera feature native to the ActivConnect G-series.


    The webcam does have a built in microphone and works fine with the ACG when using Voice Search or Skype. We have tried playback of the video clip on the ACG and even shared it to Google Drive and neither one had audio. It's like the Camera app does not record audio. There are setting in the Camera app for Resolution and quality, but nothing about audio.

    The in-built camera app does not record audio.  There may be 3rd party apps available that do record both video and audio but these would be unsupported.
