EST P1 active board sudden cursor movement

hi,

we have installed several est p1 in one university, and they are complaining that out of nowhere the mouse cursor will just suddenly move without touching the mouse or the pen, even when they try to move the mouse, the cursor is still moving. they have to turn off and on the board just to stop the cursor from moving.
and not isolated to one board only, several board have this issue but its not consistently showing, just randomly showing one day or one week.
any suggestion on what to do?

  • Hi jcestimos,

Thanks for posting on the Support Community.

With regard to the EST-P1, this is a projector and will have no impact on the behaviour of the mouse cursor as this will only display the image from the computer.

Are you using a Promethean ActivBoard at all? If so, what is the model of this?

    Kind regards,

yes they are using activboard 300, they have to turn off and on the board to stop the cursor from moving.
  • Hi jcestimos,

    Thanks for your reply.

The ActivBoard 300 Pro would only interact when the pen is placed on the surface of the ActivBoard.
Do you have the model number to hand? This will be located on the side of the ActivBoard next to the serial number.

If this is a 500 Pro ActivBoard instead (they look the same as the 300 but have touch input too), if you disable the touch from the ActivManager, does this then stop the cursor from moving?

Thank you for that update @jcestimos.  Let us know what happens when that has been disabled.
