Install ActiviDriver

Dear Promethean,

Im having an issue installing the newest version of the ActiviDriver - 5.17 from the website.  After downloading and running it.  It gets to the very end, and they says rolling back and failed install.  The error was 0x80070643 - Fatal error during installation.  Wondering if anyone as had this same issue?  Thanks again.

    Hi MartinSTCS,

    Do you have all of the computers Windows updates applied? Please check that these are up to date. If you do require to install any updates, please ensure that the computer is restarted once updated.
    I would then re-run the installation file for the ActivDriver.

    Yes all updates have been done.  We are on Windows 10. Thanks again.

  • Hi MartinSTCS,

    After you have applied all the Windows update, make sure you reboot your computer.  Delete all the file in your temp folder, you do this by going to start menu, click run and then type %temp% at the command prompt.  Click on one of the files and hold down the CTRL key and "A", this will highlight all the files in your temp folder.  Delete, skip all the files in use.  Reboot your computer.

    You may also need an additional update for your computer. Download and install the vc_redist.x86.exe file, even if you are running a 64-bit operating system.

    After this is done, install the ActivDriver again from this link https://support.prometheanworld.com/product/activdriver.

    Dear Pam,

    Yes its been restarted.  Temp folder has been deleted.  I can try that.  Thanks again.

    Dear Promethean,

    Sorry that didn't work either.  Here is the back story a staff member sound wasn't working, so they called Promethean support.  Which they shouldn't have we handle all of the issues.  But after a Promethean support technician connected to the computer and started making changes. Installing/Reinstalling everything go screwed up.  Now cant install the driver.  Thanks again.
