ActivInspire won't allow registration of devices...

I have been trying to connect an ActivSlate to my MacBook Air and am having no luck. I have downloaded most recent versions of ActivInspire (2.11.66910) and ActivDriver (5.17.13). When I start up ActivInspire and try to register a new device, an error message pops up that says, "Please Install the ActivDriver." I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program and the same message always pops  up.

When I plug in the ActivHub to my laptop, it flashes green but doesn't show up in the Manager control panel (nothing does). The icon for ActivManager has a red X through it, not sure if this is important.

    The message may be a right issue on the computer.  

    Promethean directories must have these permissions: 

    System - R & W
    Admin - R & W
    Everyone - Read only

    System - R & W
    Everyone - Read only

    System - R & W
    Everyone - Read only

    System - Read & Write
    Everyone - Read only

    Once you change them reboot the computer.
