ActivPanel Capabilities

Our teacher connect to the ActivPanels wirelessly with ActivCast.
  1. Is it possible to have multiple people write on the ActivPanel simultaneously without connecting to a computer with ActivInspire?
  2. Is it possible to write on or interact with what is projected from a computer through ActivCast from the ActivPanel?

  • Hi Heind001,

    Thank you for the questions!

In reference to your first question, it really depends on the hardware that you are using. When connecting to an ActivConnect G-Series or ActivConnect OPSG, you will get the full range of touches (assuming the program and application that you are using allows for multiple input). You can do this without having a computer connected and outside of ActivInspire, because the ActivConnect device is taking the place of the computer.

That does lead us into the second question and the answer is no, you will not be able to interact with the image and panel while casting.   When connecting a computer to the panel, you will need to have a USB cable connected to allow for interaction.

If we can assist you further, please let us know.

    Thank you,

    Hi Martha,

Thank you for the input. How would I determine whether the program/application allows for multiple input? And how would I turn this feature on or off on the ActivPanel?
  • Hi Heind001,

The only way to really know if a program or application allows for multi-touch would be to research that specific application, depending on that application they may also have a way to turn off that feature.

If you wish to turn off touch as a whole, some of our ActivPanel’s do have this feature located on the front of the panel. Usually dictated by a lock symbol or a pointer with a cross through it depending on the model.

    Thank you,
    Martha
