Does 5.18.19 have the same ability to fix the BSOD issue that was incorporated into the 5.18.16 beta driver?   Or we need to continue using the beta driver for the older boards to prevent BSOD’s from 1903 and newer windows versions?

      Hello Leo.

      Thank you for your post.

Can you confirm the model of ActivBoards you have?

Changing to a HID firmware should resolve the issue of the BSOD.

If you could let us know the model, we can advise further.

      Kind regards,

      Craig

Thanks for the response.    Generation 1 and 2 boards that do not have a firmware update available.    Vast majority are primarily 2nd generation ones with the prm-45 projector.   We do have 300/500 boards and I believe those have firmware updates available and can use the newer driver.

It would be nice to not have to turn off secure boot on all of our newer hardware because of the need to support the use of this beta driver on generation 1 and 2 boards.

      Thanks

      Hello Leo,

      Thank you for your reply.

Second generation units have been developed around 20 years ago, based on the technology of that era.

We take pride in the near-indestructability of our products, but it is hard to imagine such a veteran design working without glitches with modern day machines.

The unsupported driver workaround has been offered in the same vein, to allow users of outdated hardware an option to continue doing so.

We do not have, however, plans to develop a firmware that allows second generation units to work in the same way 3rd generation ones do, this is hardly achievable due to the technology involved.

Also, it is worth noting that the product (2nd generation units) has been discontinued well over a decade ago.

Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

      Regards,

      Riccardo
