Between math classes yesterday, all of the typing and pictures on the 95 slides I have for our current math unit deleted.  I hit the “undo” button to try and redo this but, the program shut down.  When it did that, it saved as the blank slides.  It did have a message about restoring the previous version, but the program restarted again. Is there anything that I can do to restore the slides that I previously had?

      Hi Kathy,

      Thanks for posting.

If you’ve been unable to restore the flipchart and recover these slides, this may not be possible to do.

Although it is not possible to repair a corrupt flipchart, you may be able to recover some of your content.

Launch ActivInspire and open the corrupt flipchart. Open your Temp folder by following the above steps. You will see a folder in your Temp folder called com.promethean.activinspire.1. Open this folder, and double click the name of your flipchart. Your content (images, videos and audio files) are stored in this folder should you wish to copy them to recreate your flipchart.

Keeping your software up to date, and saving your work to a stable location will prevent your flipcharts from becoming corrupt.

      I hope this helps.
      Kind regards,
      Adam

      Hello Joy,

      Thank you for your post.

To assist you with the issue reported, could you please explain this in detail and confirm if your work was saved into a stable location? How many flipcharts had the same issue?

Please, also confirm the version of ActivInspire you are currently using and the operating system on the computer.

We look forward to hearing from you.

      Kind regards,

      Arianna

You will have to let me know where to find the version.  I can’t seem to locate it.

I have had this happen on 15 times.  It happens about every 10 to 20 opens.  It replaces all my slides with blank slides.  No, I do not have copies of these charts.  I just have to start over and it is very time consuming. My computer runs on Windows 10.

I have tried deleting the temp files but that does not seem to affect it.  I have had that problem in the past but it did not delete my slides.

      Please help.

      Hello Joy,

      Thank you for your reply.

You may locate your ActivInspire version by clicking on the Help Menu > About.

This article may be helpful should you need more details on how to locate your software version.

In order to fix the issue, kindly perform a manual uninstall of the current version of ActivInspire by following these steps.

Once done, please proceed with installing our latest ActivInspire version.

We hope this helps fix the issue. Please let us know should the error persist.

      Kind regards,
      Slim

      It is version 2.21.69365

My IT person has already done a reinstall.  My computer is fairly new and I we installed the software and then it was reinstalled to fix a different issue. We are required to use the district tools to download software.

      Hello Joy,

      Thank you for your reply.

Does the issue persist following the installation of the latest version of ActivInspire, version 2.22?

Does this only happen on one computer or on several machines?

Were the flipcharts saved locally on your computer?

Did the flipcharts have any special content or images? We normally recommend to keep the flipcharts as small as possible, to upload any images from the computer instead of copying and pasting them and to save the work periodically.

We look forward to hearing from you.

      Kind regards,

      Arianna
