Hi, I have recently had an ActivPanel installed at one of my primary schools. It is connected to our school PC that is connected to the network (hard wired). The ActivPanel has the capability to connect to a mobile device (iPad) We have a wireless access point in the classroom so in theory the iPad can connect to our network. How do we connect/mirror to the ActivPanel?

Hi Craig, SO does that mean that we need an additional bit of equipment called ActivConnect and this connects to the Activpanel and then we need to download an APP called Activcast.

Yes, you would need an ActivConnect to use the ActivCast feature. The ActivPanel does not have it built in as standard.
Please let me know if you need any further information.

Im being told by the supplier/installer that my ActivPanel already has ActivConnect and ActivCast built in. The Panel I have is a version 4 and that has Android.

The ActivPanel 4 does come with an ActivConnect G-Series android box which is likely installed on the rear on the ActivPanel.
It should also be connected to once of the sources via HDMI so I would suggest trying to find the source that has the ActivConnect showing and you should be able to use the instructions my colleague provided to mirror your display to the ActivPanel screen.
Please let us know if this works.Kind Regards,PaulPromethean Technical Support

If we hardwire the ActiveConnect G-series box to our LAN can it create a hotspot wifi network to mirror our devices to or do we need to connect it to our wifi network directly. Also if the latter is the case how can we put our security certificate on the ActiveConnect?

Yes, you may use the hotspot function of the ActivConnect and use that hotspot to mirror. For more information about creating a hotspot, please see this article on the support site. https://support.prometheanworld.com/article/?kb=1549
