      Hello,

      I’ve had a look at other posts on here about this issue and have tried uninstalling the original install from this morning and re-installed it, to no avail.

      I’m running the latest windows 10, I have admin rights and it is not a network install.

      There are no other copies of this software on this laptop. It still doesn’t install and continues to display ‘An error was encountered whilst installing:

      ActivInspire Err: 1612
      HelpEnglish (United Kingdom) Err: 1612
      Core ResourcesEnglish (United Kingdom) Err:1612
      Hand Writing RecognitionEnglish (United Kingdom) Err: 1612

      Hi Daniel,

      Error 1612, is normally attributed when the installation file cannot be accessed.
      We would highly recommend that the user clears out the local temp directory, creates a brand new admin user and tries again.

      Failing that, we would need to look at a remote session to figure out what is going on.

      Hi Daniel,

      Apologies for the delay in the response.

      We would recommend you uninstall any elements of ActivInspire (not including the ActivDriver) and download the below ActivInspire 2.6 file below.

      We have extracted the contents into a .MSI file which you can run for the install.
      Please extract the folder contents and then go to the ActivInspire.MSI file to run the installation set up.

      I have the same problem with instalation ActivInspireSuite v2.8.66693 pl setup or ActivInspireSuite v2.8.66766 pl setup. Can You prepare a special instal without msi?

      Windows 7 64 bit, admin right

      Hi piotr,

      We don’t have such a package for version 2.8 at the moment.

      Please have a look at version 2.6 below if you wish.

      Or you can simply run a network install option when launching the 2.8 version.

      Hey,
      I’ve got the same issue. I’m on a Win 8.1, full admin rights and working from the local hard drive. Even with a deleted /Temp directory I get errored out by Err 1612. Could you help me? I’d need the German version v2.10.66827 de.

      Hi Adam,
      Well, I downloaded it already, that’s why I get the Error 1612 at the installation, which is aborted thereby. I’d need help with that problem, not to know where to find the download.
      My system is up-to-date. I simply got the same issue as the one mentioned above. You solved that problem with a special installer file, I guess. Could you help me with that?

      Hi,

      The error 1612 is a generic Windows error message and nothing relating to ActivInspire specifically.
      The links that we have sent in the past in this same forum are for the current versions of ActivInspire which can be downloaded from the Support site, no special installers.

      Please check your computer and ensure that there are no files for ActivInspire installed on to the computer. If they are, please remove, reboot and try the installation again.
      Please ensure that you are logged on to the computer with a local administrator account and ensure that you have permission to install ActivInspire to the desired installation folder.

      Hi,

      I’ve had problems with

      Err 1612

      during the installation process. Reading this page, running Microsoft FixIt, cleaning Temp, running as admin, trying links above for other versions and doing lots of other potentially useful stuff didn’t help.
      Please help me out!

      Dear Adam,

      I also have the problem “Err: 1612” when installing “ActivInspire v2.14.67304 it setup.exe” on Windows 10 Education 64 bits (fully updated; Administrator mode).

      I’d verified that no other installation or aborted installation have left traces on the system.

      When installed on a Notebook Win10 in the same conditions no installation problems are evidenced.
