ParticipantI find the video player in ActiveInspire difficult to use and not as clear as other media players on my computer. I would like to have a link that allows a video in my documents to be played outside of my flipchart. Is that possible?

InactiveHi Dylan,
Thanks for posting on the Support Community.
With regard to the question you have asked, it is not possible to use a third party application to play the videos outside of ActivInspire.
Thanks
Adam

InactiveFille –> Insert –> Link
This will insert the link to the file saved on your computer in My Documents. This also works with PDFs, Word etc.
Not sure if I’ve read the question right, but I think that is what you want to do? -

InactiveHi there,
is it possible to NOT use an absolute link to the file? I would like to open a file, that is in the same directory as the flipchart.
Thanks for the help

InactiveHi Adam,
in my flipchart I want to use a video. I do not want to implement the video in the flipchart . I just want to insert the link to the video. To insert the absolute link is no problem, but i would like to insert a relative link. So that the video is always accessible (because it is in the same folder as the flipchart) independently of the “configuration” around.
Thanks

InactiveHi,
Thank you for your reply email.
I’ve been trying to test this however it appears that ActivInspire detects the file that you are linking to and prompts to play this as a video file each time.
At the moment it’s not possible to link to a folder location without specifying the file, with video files, as ActivInspire detects this as a video it will start to play with the built in media tool.
Kind regards,
Adam
