Unfortunately I have no touch controls on my ActivPanel since upgrading my Macbook to Catalina on release. This is a big problem and can’t teach the way I like.

When will there be a fix? Thanks!

      Hi Jasper,

      Thanks for posting.

Please be aware that Catalina is currently an unsupported operating system with the ActivDriver and ActivInspire software.

We hope to have a new version released soon which will help with this issue.

I’d recommend however ensuring that you do have the latest available ActivDriver installed as this would be required for touch to work. The current version is 5.18.12.

      Kind regards,
      Adam

Touch is still not working using Catalina and an ActivPanel. I have installed v.5.18.18.

How do I fix this. It’s unworkable.

It is still not working. It was always perfect before Catalina, I even didn’t need any drivers. Please fix this!

      Hi Jasper,

Can you confirm what version of ActivDriver you have installed?
What is the full Mac OS version you are using?
Have you made the changes as per the below article for Catalina?

      1737

Please let us know what model of ActivPanel you are using?

      Thanks

      Adam

      Hi,

Thanks for your reply confirming this information.

Can you confirm if you are connecting directly to the ActivPanel rather than connecting to the HDMI IN/Touch ports on the OPS-G?

What happens when you try to use touch? Does the cursor move at all?

Does ActivManager detect the ActivPanel when connected directly to the ActivPanels HDMI 1/2/3 and Touch 1/2/3 ports?

      Kind regards,
      Adam

When I reboot my Macbook when it’s connected and I use HDMI and Touch 2 directly it works. That is a workaround, but I need a solution so the OPS is also working.

When I connect directly the driver detects the ActivPanel.

      Hi Jasper,

      Thanks for confirming.

Mac operating systems do not have built in touch device drivers unlike Windows operating systems, as such requires the ActivDriver to be installed so that this can detect touch input from your ActivPanel.

When you connect through the HDMI IN on the OPS-G, this is a passthrough connection and not direct, as a consequence of this, your Mac OS will not detect the ActivDriver as such, you will get no touch.

      Kind regards,
      Adam

It always worked before Catalina. Without any drivers.

At this moment I always need to restart  my Mac to get it working. Else the drivers aren’t recognized.

      Hi Jasper,

From what you have mentioned, this shouldn’t work as Mac OS doesn’t have any built in touch drivers to the operating system and connecting through the HDMI IN/Touch USB would act as a passthrough rather than a direct connection, however, can you confirm what version of Mac OS you had previously before Catalina?

Is your USB cable direct, or connecting through an adapter of some form?

      Thanks,

      Adam

I always use the latest versions. So before it was Mojave.

I use an adapter, since new MacBook Air’s only have usb-c.

In Mojave, I had touch using the OPS, with my adapter and without any drivers. Since Catalina using the ActivPanel is much more frustrating. Connecting, rebooting, … everytime!

I am having the exact same issue. I have no touch however I used to use it beautifully and all of the other teachers in our school use it as well. They are running mojave however while I am running Catalina. I have no touch all of a sudden.

Also, everything is up to date. I really miss the ability to use the timers etc. while using my computer.

      Hi Daniel,

We have raised this with our development team to review for future updates.
