I have the newer Promethean board you can use regular dry erase markers on. Sometimes I turn off the board to use as a whiteboard, but there doesn’t seem any way to keep what I do on the board from activating things on my laptop without shutting the laptop down.

I don’t want to shut the laptop down just so I can write on the board with a dry-erase marker: is there a “marker mode” or something equivalent?

      Hi there,

Thanks for posting on the Support Community.

I would recommend in this instance to simply remove the USB cable from the laptop that is connected to the ActivBoard when you wish to use as a dry erase board.
When you are ready to use the board interactively just plug the USB cable back in.

      I hope this helps.

      Kind regards,
      Adam
