Is there a way to get rid of the giant ClassFlow button at the top of the screen? It goes away if I uncheck the option in Settings about making the document tabs visible, but what I really want is to see the document tabs for my open flipcharts and not have space taken up with the ClassFlow Connect icon in that toolbar. Thank you for any help you can provide.

There is no setting in the software or any other method
available for removing the ClassFlow button from the ActivInspire software
      at  this time.

We will raise this as a suggestion for enhancement to our
software, which may be implemented in a future version.

have you created a way to remove it yet?  i like to be able to switch between flipcharts as i teach.  the popup menu is NOT easy to use and the Classflow button which i NEVER EVER use is taking up valuable space at the bottom of my board.

The ClassFlow ‘Connect’ button is still a feature of the ActivInspire software and cannot be removed from the software or otherwise made not visible.

We will raise this as a request for enhancement to be made in a possible future release of the ActivInspire software.

So you were asked about this three years ago. Why have you not made this optional, so that we can actually see the lessons rather than a gigantic useless banner?

      Hi Paul,

      Thanks for your post.

An enhancement request has remained open since this was first requested.

We have thousands of users who make use of the ClassFlow button in ActivInspire for their day to day lessons.

With this in mind and having received very few requests for this to be amended, our developers are working on other side of the software.

We will in any case add your post to the enhancement request. However, there is no way of knowing if and when this will be addressed.

The only solution we can suggest would be to revert to a far older version of ActivInspire from before the ClassFlow link was added.

This would have potential compatibility issues with your operating system though.

If you would like to try this solution, please let us know.

      Thanks

      James

If it helps, I would also like the option to hide this button. I have no problem with it being there and am not asking for it to be removed from the program but it’d help if I could hide it.

      Hello,

We have added the request to an Enhancement request with our Development Team.

We cannot confirm when or if this option will be available.

Please subscribe to the announcements section on the community for any updates.

      Thank you,

Revisiting a 6 year old request to remove the useless Classflow Connect banner.

To add an option to hide this button would take a programmer under an hour.

There isn’t a good reason to refuse this request, especially if it enhances the user experience for many users, but this seems like the typical way the software is developed.

      Hello Troy,

The option to hide the banner has not been added to the latest version of ActivInspire.

I will re-add your request to the enhancement request.

      Thank you,

      Craig

I ended up here as I was trying to find a solution to my problem which is to remove the ClassFlow huge banner. I can see that this problem has not been solved regardless of the fact it’s an easy fix and other people have complained about it.

While I understand this tool might be extremely important to some users of ActivInspire, I see no reason why you couldn’t have at least done it smaller.

Since the only solution you have presented is to download an older version of the software, I’d like to try that. The ClassFlow feature has done nothing but be in my way all the time.

I tried to find this older version in the website but I couldn’t. If you could direct me to a download link I would really apprecite it.

      Hello Adelita,

      Thank you for your post.

As we still do not have any visibility on a possible ETA for the ClassFlow banner enhancement request, we would like to recommend a simple alternative that might do the trick: Activinspire Personal Edition does not show the ClassFlow button/banner.

We will immediately add your request to the enhancement ticket too.

In regard to using an old ActivInspire version, and as mentioned in one of our previous replies, this would most likely have potential compatibility issues with your operating system.

Please note that we would not be able to fix any of the issues you might encounter as this version is no longer supported.

We will contact you directly via email to provide you with a download link.

      Kind regards,
      Slim

Same. Hate the CLASSFLOW button. (And of course it is CLASSFLOW, not Classflow)

I hate the nag screen when I open up Promethean.

I’ve given up with trying to get the Equation Editor to work.

Other ways of presenting material have become much more easier on the eyes with as many useful tools as Promethean which has become quite ugly and clunky. Of course, those others aren’t supported by our IT teams that want everyone working with ActivInspire for our Promethean boards.

Microsoft Whiteboard, Explain Everything, et al are the way to go. ActivInspire looks like the Windows 95 of the bunch. I’m half expecting the dancing paperclip to pop up after opening the application (along with the nag screens)

      Hello Bill,

Thank you for your post to our Forum.

In regards to the ClassFlow button, we have added your vote to the enhancement request.

We have also raised your request for the ability to toggle the dashboard off at startup.

In regards to the Equation Editor, it is a requirement that you have the 32-bit version of Java to use this tool.

ActivInspire’s user interface was recently updated with version 2.19, but we do appreciate the feedback and will be sure to pass it on.

      Kind regards,

      Jordan

I signed up for the community just so I could comment. YES. PLEASE get rid of the classflow bar. It takes up valuable tab space. Why don’t you just allow people to add it to their toolbar like the activexpressions where before? Especially when we have been using a lot more virtual lessons this year, it has been difficult quickly maneuvering between my different lessons when half of the top bar is filled for CLASS FLOW CONNECT DEVICES.  PLEASE add another vote for this to change.

I signed up for the community just so I could let you know to give us the option to remove the button, too. I don’t think as many people use this as you think they do. Every teacher I’ve talked to wants to remove it.

Like the many others before, I created an account just so I could post and add another vote to PLEASE GOD remove that annoying Classflow button.  Unfortunately, I’m not optimistic that this post will do anything because obviously many others have been trying before me for years and it seems there has been no effort to change.  I don’t even know what Classflow is, but I want all evidence of it gone from my life – PLEASE get rid of that stupid button.  Every time I look at, I feel a small burst of rage.

Recently the laptops at our school were refurbished also with a newer version of activ inspire.

In this new version the highly annoying overly huge CLASSFLOW toolbar was added and it has been irritating me ever since. There is no room lefts for the tabs which are usefull. This is a classic case of: “Hey let’s do/make something en give it to all the people who don’t want it, but we are going to do it anyway!”

I can see this feed has been on for 6 years now, and it was still NOT fixed. As said earlier already, it would take no time for you guys to fix.

It seems to me you just don’t want to do it and force us upon your precious beloved (NOT) toolbar.

As a Google Classroom user, I use Google Classroom for classroom management.  I only use ActiveInspire for presentations from my laptop, and this is being phased out as well, as we are migrating to ActivePanel apps.  Like most teachers, I do not utilize CLASSFLOW features.  Having an overlarge logo for an unused feature gets in the way when multiple flipcharts are loaded up at the same time.

With all the options to customize the toolbar and appearance of this software, it is curious that this request has been repeatedly ignored.  It seems obvious that the developers want ActivInspire users to also use CLASSFLOW (all caps), thus the giant logo with the giant “CONNECTED DEVICES” next to it.

Please add another 25 of my co-workers who won’t take the time to post on these boards but ALL HATE the size of the classflow button and don’t use it.

        Hello Troy,

        Thank you for your post.

We will get those 25 additional users added to our Enhancement Request to get the ClassFlow button removed. To help ensure you are among the first to know when new versions of our software release, please keep an eye on the Announcements Forum.
