      Hi there,

We’ve got an ActivePanel 2 which has a broken USB-B connection so the touchscreen input no longer works on the computer the panel is attached to.  I notice that there’s RS232 in and out connections on the panel and I wondered if it was possible to use one of these connections with a USB to RS232 adaptor to still use the touchscreen functions of the display?

      Hello Rob,

      Thank you for your post.

The RS232 feature will only allow you to set control codes for the options listed in the following article: It is not possible to use it for interacting purposes, for example to use the touch function on the panel.

If you would like us to look into the issue you reported and offer alternatives, please contact us directly via email or telephone and we will be happy to assist you further:

      Thank you and kind regards,
