I hate the nag screen when I open up Promethean.

I’ve given up with trying to get the Equation Editor to work.

Other ways of presenting material have become much more easier on the eyes with as many useful tools as Promethean which has become quite ugly and clunky. Of course, those others aren’t supported by our IT teams that want everyone working with ActivInspire for our Promethean boards.

Microsoft Whiteboard, Explain Everything, et al are the way to go. ActivInspire looks like the Windows 95 of the bunch. I’m half expecting the dancing paperclip to pop up after opening the application (along with the nag screens)

Let me add my name to this long list of people that hates the dashboard. Yes, after opening up ActivInspire hundreds of times, we know that there’s a resource library. Please let us disable it.

Our software is indeed on 2.16, but I spoke to IT today and they said that they won’t update it until the summer. At least they’re making their jobs easier!

For the other point, when I go to “New Flipchart”, the options for sizes are in the ratio of (1024 x 768, 1152 x 864) which are 4:3 or (1280 x 1024) which is 5:4. None of these three options is the ratio of the panels.

Is there any indication that ActivInspire will continue to be worked on or is there something else in the works? My impression was that now with the on board OPS that there would be something cloud based that could be used instead of ActivInspire, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Will the ActivInspire software be updated as to be useful on the panels?

For instance,

• All the default frame sizes aren’t even in the same ratio as a panel.
• ActivInspire is really wonky at times. For instance, our teachers at my school have tried many times (unsuccessfully) to keep the board from “double tapping”. This means hitting the forward icon moves the slides ahead two spaces (hitting back does the same) or hitting the undo button undoes the last two things that you have done.
• ActivInspire still needs to be attached to the computer to use, which really makes the panel unmovable.
